rhythmtandem

The custom electronics for the rhythmtandem were developed for Rasker Musical Instruments. This new interface allows one to play bass guitar on a conventional drum kit, while maintaining the acoustic sound of the drums. Thus, two instruments can be played at the same time.

The hi-hat of the drum kit is equipped with 24 membrane sensors. The sensor data is processed by the hardware. The resulting data can be routed to the built in bass synthesizer or to an external synthesizer using MIDI. When using the internal synth, the user can select one of the 16 presets. When using an external synthesizer one can increase the range of possible samples.
