magic wand
The Amsterdam based artist/theater group PIPS:lab uses awesome realtime technologies in their performances. Their work is based on manipulating captured video images, for which they needed a magic wand…
This magic wand sequentially displays one pixel slice from 16 pixel high bitmap images. The built in memory can store up to 9 different bitmaps, with a total size of 4000×16 pixels.
When the wand is waved in front of a video camera, the bitmap image is thus magically restored in a realtime projection and ready to be used for further live manipulations.
